Job Description
Position: Visitation Specialist
DAYS mission: To provide a continuum of human services for all children, youth, and families.
Position Summary: Responsible for providing supervision between parents/caregivers and children who have been placed in out-of-home care. Coordinate visits and work with county human services to provide appropriate supervision.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide supervision between parents/caregivers and children who have been placed in out-of-home care.
- Assess parent functioning and skills.
- Facilitate visits as needed.
- Provide feedback to parents regarding parenting skills and parent child interactions.
- Participate in opportunities to receive training that will ensure that evidence-based practices are provided to clients.
- Participate in meetings including but not limited to team meeting and all staff meetings.
- Participate in individual supervision.
- Complete all required clinical and administrative documentation to accepted standards of practice, accurately, legibly, and by established timelines.
- Provide all services within the appropriate limits of the given authorization.
- Complete and follow through with financial and clinical information necessary to ensure reimbursement for services provided to consumers.
- Regularly contact authorizing agencies to discuss recommendations and request continued authorization of services.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in mental health or human services field preferred.
A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with children, youth, and families involved with the child welfare system or other clinical setting.
Experience and interest in providing supervision and/or parent coaching.
Knowledge of community systems and resources are helpful.
Competent in computer skills required.
Must have own car and clean driving record, driving is required.
Must complete and pass a full background check including driving history.
Must pass a drug test.
Hourly pay range is $25-30/hour for part-time employees
Salary range is $42,000-47,000/per year plus benefits for full-time employees
